1. Watch Amazing Animals, Polar Bear
2. In your "Amazing Animal" writing journal: a. Write a sentence sharing one opinion that you have about polar bears. Remember an opinion is what you think or how you feel about something! b. Write two or three facts that you learned about the polar bear. A fact is something that is always true. This could include what it eats, what it looks like, where it lives or any other interesting facts that you learned. c. Illustrate the polar bear by drawing and colouring in the picture box. Please take a photo of your journal and post it to your portfolio on Class Dojo. |

They may choose to "listen" to the book, if they need. 3. Please have your child complete the comprehension "quiz" as independently as possible. Play "Find the difference" with someone at home.
You will need: Game board ( in your math workbook) Lego blocks of the same size for tower building 12 sided digital dice Click here for the dice! 2. You will roll the dice and get a number - make your tower with your lego blocks. 2. Your opponent will then roll the dice and use lego blocks to build their tower. 3. Next find the "difference" between the towers. Who has more lego blocks? How many more? 4. We can use subtraction to find the difference between two numbers! Subtract the smaller number from the larger number to see the difference between the two towers. If player one rolls 8 and player two rolls 6, the subtraction sentence would look like: 8 - 6 = 2 Player one has 2 more blocks than player two! The difference is 2. 5. Record your subtraction sentence in the large box 6. Repeat for several rounds Please take a photo of your subtraction sentences and post it to your Class Dojo profile. |
